Fuji Xerox Leads the Colour Production Printing Market With Color 800 / 1000 Presses

Print service providers looking to expand their digital business now have two new presses to produce sophisticated, full-colour print collaterals, photo book, direct-marketing pieces and publishing products – the Color 800 Press and Color 1000 Press for the high-end professional-use in the colour printing production market.

With 147 new patents, Fuji Xerox believes it has made huge technological advances while building on the best of existing print technology. The new publishing systems, designed for commercial printers, service bureaus as well as quick and franchise prints, are positioned between the award-winning DocuColor® 8002 Digital Color Presses and flagship iGen4™ Press.

The Color 800 Press and Color 1000 Press – printing 80 and 100ppm respectively for media from 55 to 350 gsm at rated speed can handle applications that conventional digital printing could not deliver.  Both presses have optional clear dry ink stations to amplify full-color jobs; allowing for images and text to be highlighted for visual impact, or digital watermarks applied for artistic effect or security. The clear dry ink not only serves as a simple conventional varnish but also brings additional value to prints. It is also beneficial for variable-data applications using Xerox’s XMPie software, as it displays personalized content in more vivid ways.

For unprecedented image quality, both presses print at 2400 x 2400 dpi for excellent sharpness and uniformity, and use a new low-melt emulsion aggregation (EA) dry ink, which delivers an offset-like finish. EA Dry Ink is chemically grown, giving small, consistent particles that enables high definition image quality with outstanding shadow detail and smooth transitions.

Advanced image quality, productivity, stability and reliability, are key enhancements in supporting various applications. One of which is variable data printing where customisation adds value to sales collaterals; catalogues, mailers, labels, packages, photo books and more.

Other product features include:

  • Flexible finishing options – allow systems to be custom-built to specific volume and application needs. Available options include an Offset Catch Tray, a High Capacity Stacker with removable carts, and Light Production Booklet Finisher.

  • Innovative design – offers two 2,000 sheet trays positioned below the print engine, providing a smaller footprint compared to competitive systems. An optional High Capacity Feeder with two additional trays can increase capacity to 8,000 sheets.

  • Broad Media Latitude – accommodates stocks from 55 to 350 gsm, so users can print anything from lightweight mailers that save on postage to thick, heavyweight photo keepsake applications. With sheet sizes up to 330 x 488 mm, the presses can handle multi-up jobs and accommodate applications needing full-bleed trim.

The new presses can be paired up with industry leading business development resources – the Profit Accelerator®. Additionally, print providers can use the new Design Guide for Clear Dry Ink, developed specifically for the new presses – all aimed at helping customers grow their business with Fuji Xerox digital printing. With the new presses and tools, Fuji Xerox continues to reinforce its product lineup as the pioneer of production printing, so as to contribute to customers’ business expansion.
